Pop’s 09 Honda Fit Sport was flawless from new till trade in at 80,000 miles. Although, the valvetrain never did sound right again after Honda’s LMS recall.

Only have 18,000 miles on the wife’s 2014 Mazda3 2.5L. Good so far. I enjoy driving it, too.

no experience with Hondas. Anecdotally, the few Mazdas I’m familiar with (‘03 Protege, ‘07 and ‘08 3s) is that they’re fairly trouble free until about 80-90,000 miles, then stuff starts falling apart. my BIL has the 2008 Mazda 3, and at 80k and change is needing some $$ suspension work.

I have a 16 Mazda 3. I also work at a dealer, I have not seen any issues of note out of the 3's. I do like the 2.0 over the 2.5 for the fuel efficiency. The 2.5 is fun but for what I use it for the 2.0 gets it done.

I had a 2008 Mazda3 S Touring hatchback for six years and 63,000 miles. Zero major issues. I replaced the upper passenger side motor mount in 2011 (bought the car in late 2009) and the brake light switch at 60,000 miles in 2015. No rust, either.

My wife has a 2013 CX-5 and I have a 2016 6, both with SkyActiv motors. No problems out of either.

I have an 08 Fit with 160,000 miles on it. No major issues. Valve clearances are wonky, so it has a couple valves that sound loud even though they’re in spec. Also went through a few headlights before I pulled apart the connector and cleaned it up; it also helps if you bend the bulb tabs put slightly to make better contact. Supposedly the spark plug coils can be problematic, but I’ve never had one fail.

Other than that, it’s been completely trouble free for the 95,000+ miles I’ve owned it. Gets 34-38mpg all day long, regardless of city/freeway.

Mazda tech here, haven’t seen the new 3's hit 100,000 miles yet, most I’ve seen is around 80k, not a whole lot of common issues to look out for. Definitely avoid the Mexico built cars (some 2015+ 2.0L only), I had a 2015 3i Touring hatch with the 6mt and loved it, only got rid of it for another Miata. I’ve done rear shocks on a few, but that’s as close to a common issue as I can think of, and that’s literally less than five in the last year. The Mexico cars have a lot of stupid recall stuff like improper coolant concentration and I personally would avoid those but that’s it, they really are pretty solid so far (having only been out for a few years of course)
